Owenwood PS comes in at #3 in this year’s Top 5 Mississauga Elementary School Rankings!
Owenwood PS is a JK-5 public elementary school whose catchment area straddles the often confusing border of Clarkson and Lorne Park. This is important to point out because while Owenwood has a great reputation, it filters into Clarkson Secondary School which is generally lower-ranked and less desirable than Lorne Park SS.
Owenwood PS has a student population of approximately 125 students and no French Immersion track. In past years, Owenwood has often not qualified for the rankings because of its low student population. However, they met it this year and scored very well once again.
This is a very small pocket in Mississauga, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a home in Clarkson or Lorne Park. You can also consider other options in the area, it really just depends on your budget. Lorne Park is quite a bit more expensive than Clarkson, so if you have the budget, I would personally aim for a school that puts you into the Lorne Park SS track. For example, if you stay east of Southdown road you can get into Whiteoaks PS which puts you into the Lorne Park SS school zone.

Results are based on EQAO testing. EQAO is an arm’s length government agency that contributes to the quality and accountability of Ontario’s publicly funded education system for K-12. The EQAO tests only Grade 3 and Grade 6 students in Ontario. There are many more factors when it comes to determining the quality of a school.
