McKinnon PS is a JK-4 public elementary school located in the neighbourhood of Churchill Meadows in Northwest Mississauga. It has approximately 450 students and no French Immersion track. McKinnon PS is a bit of an outlier only going until Grade 4, but it seamlessly transitions to Ruth Thompson Middle school for Grades 5-8 before students enter high school at local Stephen Lewis SS.
Churchill Meadows is one of the younger neighbourhoods in Mississauga and its schools have always performed very well. The two standout schools are traditionally McKinnon PS and Oscar Peterson PS.
What I really like about McKinnon PS is its focus on early learning and the one-on-one attention it gives struggling students in Grade 1 to help them catch up to their peers. This has certainly helped them keep their place amongst a very, very tough batch of schools in Mississauga’s competitive EQAO environment. I have no hesitation recommending this neighbourhood to my clients as its one of the best in Mississauga.

Results are based on EQAO testing. EQAO is an arm’s length government agency that contributes to the quality and accountability of Ontario’s publicly funded education system for K-12. The EQAO tests only Grade 3 and Grade 6 students in Ontario. There are many more factors when it comes to determining the quality of a school.
