#1. ST. MARGUERITE D’YOUVILLE
NEIGHBOURHOOD: JOSHUA CREEK | WEDGEWOOD CREEK
GRADES: JK-8, ENGLISH & FRENCH IMMERSION
HIGH SCHOOL: HOLY TRINITY
SCORE: 8.9/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #1
Much like the public elementary level in Oakville, it’s another French Immersion school that tops this year’s list of best Catholic Elementary Schools in Oakville. The school once again finishes in the top spot to retain its crown!
The good news for parents is St. Marguerite D’Youville also offers a regular English-track program for those inside of its boundaries inside the wonderful neighbourhoods of Joshua Creek & Wedgewood Creek.
For those interested in the FI program, keep in mind students must be entering Grade 1 in their September start date to be eligible to participate.
The pocket of Joshua Creek just north of the school is the standout area. This is one of Oakville’s most desirable neighbourhoods for its convenient location, great schools and mix of newer and mature homes.
#2. ST. MATTHEW
NEIGHBOURHOOD: GLEN ABBEY
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK ONLY
HIGH SCHOOL: ST. IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA
SCORE: 8.7/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #4
Located in the peaceful and tranquil neighbourhood of Glen Abbey in central Oakville, St. Matthew makes a huge jump in the Top 5 to #2 on the list of best Catholic Elementary Schools in Oakville. Another rock solid year for the Glen Abbey school!
For high school, students would then graduate to top-ranked St. Ignatius of Loyola.
As for the neighbourhood of Glen Abbey, it is one of Oakville’s first planned neighbourhoods with many traditional 80s/90s-built homes on generous lots.
The area is quiet and peaceful with a classic suburban feel – perfect for those looking to raise a family!

NEIGHBOURHOOD: BRONTE | WEST
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK ONLY
HIGH SCHOOL: ST. THOMAS AQUINAS
SCORE: 8.6/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #3
St. Dominic is our first and only entry in the Top 5 Catholic Elementary Schools in Oakville that services the desirable South Oakville – in particular Bronte and West.
Retaining its place at #3 again this year, St. Dominic is also one of 12 schools throughout the Halton Catholic District School Board with an on-site Child Care Centre. Spots do fill up quickly, but it’s definitely a huge bonus if you can snag a spot here.
The neighbourhoods of Bronte & West are two of the most desirable in the city. And Bronte is particularly attractive if you’re looking for an affordable home in South Oakville.
This gives working parents access to the Bronte GO, quick access to the QEW and Burlington/Hamilton.
With access to great parks, Bronte Village and the Lake, St. Dominic’s catchment area is an amazing place to call home and one the team here HIGHLY recommends!
#4. ST. JOAN OF ARC
NEIGHBOURHOOD: WESTMOUNT
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK, EXTENDED FI
High school: ST. Ignatius of Loyola
SCORE: 8.3/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #2
St. Joan of Arc remains a staple in the Top 5 and places 4th after another strong year!
Located in the popular Westmount neighbourhood of northwest Oakville, it is a JK-8 school with ~355 students that offers both regular English and Extended French Immersion starting in the 5th grade.
Graduates here would then go onto top-ranked St. Ignatius of Loyola for high school.
Overall, this is a great neighbourhood to target for those looking for a combination of strong schools and affordable homes (relative to Oakville).
Westmount not only has a great selection of detached homes, but also has semi-detached, townhome and condos for sale. This means you can set up a long-term move to Oakville at a practical price point.
#5. ST. ANDREW
NEIGHBOURHOOD: RIVER OAKS | WEDGEWOOD CREEK | JOSHUA CREEK
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK ONLY
HIGH SCHOOL: HOLY TRINITY
SCORE: 8.3/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #8
St. Andrew is a JK-8 school located in River Oaks. It serves the popular and affordable area of Uptown Core and portions of both Wedgewood Creek and Joshua Creek. This makes it a very flexible school boundary for those with budgets of all sizes.
Buoyed by one of the strongest-performing Grade 6 scores of all schools in Oakville, St. Andrew once again jumps back into the Top 5 just a fraction above the 6th-placed school!
Graduates here would then move onto Holy Trinity for high school.
As for the community, it’s located right in Central Oakville, which is one of the most convenient by far in the city.
You can find peaceful areas of River Oaks and Joshua Creek while enjoying all the amazing amenities in Uptown Core where many of the city’s new condos can be found.
This is a great long-term school zone for those looking for a nice balance of lifestyle and convenience.
