HIGH SCHOOL: BISHOP TONNOS
SCORE: 9.5/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #1
Corpus Christi is a JK-8 school located in the neighbourhood of Kennedy in what can loosely be defined as Hamilton Mountain West near the intersection of Upper James and Rymal Road.
Opened way back in 1965, it underwent huge renovations in ‘99 including a new library, gymnasium, computer lab, 10 classrooms and offices.
The school also now holds the distinction of being the #1-ranked Catholic Elementary School in Hamilton once again by posting an astounding 9.5/10 overall score!
Graduates here then go to top-ranked Catholic high school Bishop Tonnos.
Hamilton Mountain West is a quiet area that offers a great balance for families. You have a great school zone with lots of local amenities nearby while being only about 15-20 minutes outside of the core of the City of Hamilton.
You also have Ancaster next door along with Hamilton’s gorgeous escarpment and local waterfalls near Stoney Creek Mountain just another 10-15 minutes east!
#2. St. Ann
NEIGHBOURHOOD: Ancaster
GRADES: JK-8
HIGH SCHOOL: BISHOP TONNOS
SCORE: 8.5/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #5
St. Ann is a JK-8 school located right in the heart of Ancaster.
Jumping three spots from #5 in last year’s rankings, St. Ann now sits at #2 in this year’s Top 5 Catholic Elementary Schools in Hamilton!
The biggest contributor to their rise was another strong year from the Grade 3 cohort and huge jump from their Grade 6 cohort. That’s two straight years with the second best score in the city that’s propelled them to this spot now.
Students here would then graduate to top-ranked Bishop Tonnos making Ancaster one of the most sought after places to live and raise a family.
A great thing about attending St. Ann is its location in the heart of Ancaster. It’s a small, adorable school located right at the main intersection of Wilson & Fiddler’s Green.
If you’re looking for a small town vibe while still being within 30 minutes of everything you need in the West GTA, then this is an amazing spot to land.

The community of Dundas is one of the most desirable places to raise a family in the region of Hamilton. The school zone is great at all levels in both the public and Catholic programs.
Real estate here is generally going to be more expensive than other areas of the Region of Hamilton, but there’s certainly stability in its schools.
