#1. Sacred Heart of Jesus

NEIGHBOURHOOD: MILLCROFT
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK, FRENCH IMMERSION (GR 1-4)
HIGH SCHOOL: CORPUS CHRISTI
SCORE: 8.5/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #3

Located in the exclusive neighbourhood of Millcroft in north Burlington, Sacred Heart of Jesus jumps two places to grab the top spot in the Top 5 Burlington Catholic Elementary Schools!

Part of the Millcroft neighbourhood, this gives the neighbourhood top schools on both the Public and Catholic side.

Sacred Heart of Jesus is also Burlington’s only dual-language school offering French Immersion beginning in Grade 1.

For high school, students would then graduate to top-ranked Corpus Christi.

Millcroft resides between Headon Forest and The Orchard in north Burlington with the Millcroft Golf Course at the heart of the community. Large, expensive homes with double car garages and huge lots are interwoven around and between the course in the north’s most prestigious area.

A warning, however, that parts of the course will soon be redeveloped that will bring some changes to certain pockets of the community.

#2. St. Timothy

NEIGHBOURHOOD: HEADON FOREST
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK
HIGH SCHOOL: NOTRE DAME
SCORE: 8.5/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #2

St. Timothy had another strong year which keeps them not only in the Top 5 Catholic Elementary Schools in Burlington, but they once again finish near the top just 0.3% behind first place!

Located in the wonderful neighbourhood of Headon Forest in north Burlington, St. Timothy is also one of 12 Catholic schools in Halton that has a childcare centre.

Graduates here would then move onto Notre Dame SS.

Overall, this is a great neighbourhood for families looking to upsize. Your typical home is a detached, 4-bed on a 50x100ft lot – so plenty of space for a growing family. Homes were mostly built in the 80s and early 90s, so it’s a mature neighbourhood that’s great to raise a family.

Strong schools, nearby amenities all at an affordable price compared to some of its neighbours. Make sure to check out all the homes for sale here using the link below.

#3. Canadian Martyrs

NEIGHBOURHOOD: PALMER | TANSLEY
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK
HIGH SCHOOL: NOTRE DAME
SCORE: 8.5/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #1

Canadian Martyrs is located in central Burlington in the neighbourhood of Palmer but also serves the residents of next door neighbour Tansley.

This year, Canadian Martyrs slips two spots down to #3 but once again the margins are razor thin at the top. Expect them to be competing for first again in next year’s rankings.

The school was originally built back in ‘75, completely renovated in ‘93 and now hosts the city’s Gifted Program for all of Burlington.

The pockets of Palmer and Tansley in central Burlington are incredibly convenient and super good value. Palmer has beautiful, tree-lined streets with wide sidewalks and mainly detached homes set nicely back.

Tansley offers more options including unique bungalofts and condos for first time buyers. This is a great, often overlooked spot in the city!

#4. St. Elizabeth Seton

NEIGHBOURHOOD: THE ORCHARD
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK
HIGH SCHOOL: CORPUS CHRISTI
SCORE: 8.4/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #4

St. Elizabeth Seton is located in the northeast neighbourhood of The Orchard. After a slight dip in 2024/25, they bounced back with a huge year and retain their place at #4 in this year’s rankings.

A small school of ~320 students, it’s nestled right at the heart of the Orchard community – one parents envision when moving into a new home.

Graduates here would move onto top-ranked high school Corpus Christi!

The Orchard is the ultimate family neighbourhood. First, it’s packed with schools. There are five elementary schools here so that means you can walk to school quite easily. Second, it’s packed with parks including The Orchard Community Park and the amazing Bronte Provincial Park right next door to explore all the amenities and walking trails it has to offer.

The Orchard is a newer neighbourhood (late 90s built) with a great community of families that is super tight-knit. It’s a really nice place to raise a family!

#5. ST. ANNE

NEIGHBOURHOOD: ALTON VILLAGE
GRADES: JK-8, REGULAR ENGLISH-TRACK
HIGH SCHOOL: CORPUS CHRISTI
SCORE: 8.3/10
PREVIOUS RANK: #6

St. Anne is located in Alton Village in North Burlington. This is Burlington’s youngest neighbourhood which is packed with young families, new homes, plenty of convenient amenities and wonderful schooling options.

St. Anne had another great year improving its score once again and jumping up one spot to finally crack the Top 5! With nearly 600 students and ~30 sports teams and clubs, St. Anne is a reflection of the young, busy community.

Graduates here would then move onto top-ranked Corpus Christi for high school.

As for the neighbourhood of Alton Village, it’s located at the northern border of the city just south of the 407. This makes it really convenient for commuting into Toronto.

Most homes here will be 2-storey freehold towns, semis and detached but there are options for condos as well meaning you can get into this neighbourhood at an affordable price.

This is a great option for young families seeking a great, affordable lifestyle balance!
