PORT CREDIT REAL ESTATE REVIEW!

THE REPORT CARD

Overall Ranking: T-1st/19

OVERALL SCORE: 7.75/10
DESIRABILITY 10/10

Desirability

The Lakefront. The shops. The restaurants. The atmosphere. Port Credit has it all. This is why the stretch of Lakeshore that runs through the neighbourhood will be packed every weekend that has any semblance of nice weather. Port Credit is one of those “villages” that used to dominate Mississauga and it’s the type of community that everyone is craving once again.

WALK + DRIVE 9/10

Walk + Drive

Port Credit is one of only a couple of neighbourhoods in Mississauga that you can truly walk. Add to that the revitalization of the Lakeshore heading east into bordering Lakeview along the Lakeshore, and that will make for a nice, easy drive right into Toronto. You’re also just minutes away from the QEW if you’re not up for the scenic route. Don’t feel like driving? Just jump on the GO at Port Credit Station and be downtown in less than 30 minutes. The Lakeshore GO line runs all day (both east and west), so accessibility to Toronto and west to Oakville (and beyond) is incredible in Port Credit.

SCHOOL QUALITY 8/10

School Quality

Port Credit’s elementary schools might not have the highest EQAO rankings (Forest Avenue is its best at #28 in Mississauga), but Port Credit SS is one of the best secondary schools in Mississauga. I have clients always raving about their child’s experience at the school and many more looking to get into the neighbourhood because of the special programs the school provides.

AFFORDABILITY 4/10

Affordability

Port Credit real estate is expensive. There’s really no other way to put it. There are condos and townhomes, but they’re actually quite pricey and more high-end ones are on the way as part of Mississauga’s master plan. For a traditional home, be prepared to spend to break into this neighbourhood. Homes are of the older bungalow-style, but not necessarily as picturesque as those found in neighbouring Lorne Park. There are fantastic homes in this neighbourhood, you will just have to be prepared to up the ante to live in Mississauga’s most desirable neighbourhood.

FEATURES

The Lifestyle

Port Credit should have been designated as the downtown core of Mississauga. It has the lakefront, the restaurants, and the entertainment that singles and families crave. Outside of Celebration Square in the City Centre, this is the life of the city.

Who's Next Door?

Downtown you’ll find lots of young families, singles and working professionals. In the more expensive, secluded area, you’ll find older and more matured families.
