Wedgewood Creek Overview

Wedgewood Creek is located between River Oaks and Joshua Creek in east-central Oakville. Make sure to check the map to see its specific location as it shares a border with Joshua Creek. North of Glenashton would be the younger homes of Joshua Creek and south of Glenashton would be the established, mature homes of Wedgewood Creek developed in the mid 1980s.

Its central location gives you easy access to major highways making it a great spot for commuters. You’re also close to the Oakville GO Station, so a trip to downtown Toronto is just about a 45-50 minute ride door to door.

Wedgewood Creek has a calm, mature vibe that’s perfect for families. The homes and streets feel established and well-maintained, and there’s a real sense of community here. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see neighbours chatting on their driveways and kids walking to school together.

Wedgewood Creek is ideal for families who want easy access to everyday retail, spacious homes, and a neighbourhood where they can settle down and be part of a tight-knit community. It’s also a good fit for professionals who want easy access to highways.

Wedgewood Creek real estate

Real Estate

Wedgewood Creek can be broken up into two distinct areas: north and south of Glenashton Drive.

South of Glenashton Drive

The original part of Wedgewood Creek started south of Glenashton between North Ridge Trail and Trafalgar south to Upper Middle Road.

These homes were developed in the mid-to-late 1980s and most are your typical detached, 2-storey, 4-bed with 3-4 bath and 2000-3000sq.ft.  Most are brick houses with large lots and mature landscaping, giving the streets a welcoming and green look.

There are a couple of different townhome and condo townhome pockets in this area as well for those looking to get into the area on a more affordable budget.

North of Glenashton

As you head north of Glenashton (west of Eighth Line) you reach the newer part of Wedgewood Creek.

This area was developed in the early 2000s and includes a mix of detached homes and townhomes (some are common element fee townhomes). Homes here are similar in size to those in the south, but you can also find single-car garage options which can make the entrypoint a lot more affordable.

Above are a couple of examples of the single-car detached homes with a smaller footprint. You can find these mixed in amongst the traditional-sized homes.

One of the big draws to this area is that it’s built just next to and south of the large retail area that defines the Dundas/Trafalgar intersection. This area, known as Uptown Core, sits within neighbouring River Oaks and gives resident access to almost everything they need in terms of everyday retail.

Pros & Cons

What are the Pros & Cons of Living in Oakville?

Wedgewood Creek median home prices

affordability

Below is the median sales price per home type. The median sales price is the price where half of the listed prices are higher and the other half are lower than it. This better represents affordability than the average sales price.

While these figures are updated as much as possible, it’s best to contact us below for real-time pricing.

Finally, please note that “Condo” includes condo townhomes while “townhome” includes both freehold and common element fee townhomes. If you see a dash (-), then this home type has not seen a sale in at least the last 180 days.

School information is updated yearly. Use the form below to download a copy of the latest school rankings.

school zone overview

Wedgewood Creek is a small neighbourhood, so it’s served by one public and one Catholic elementary school.

On the public side, students would attend Falgarwood PS (JK-8) before graduating to Iroquois Ridge for high school. If parents opt for French Immersion, they would attend Munn’s PS in nearby College Park.

On the Catholic side, students would attend St. Marguerite D’Youville (where French Immersion is also available) before graduating and attending Holy Trinity for high school.

Parks & Recreation

While there are a couple of great neighbourhood parks for families to use every day, like Postridge Park and Valleybrook Park, most of the amenities that Wedgewood Creek residents would use will be located right next door in River Oaks or Joshua Creek.

Keep in mind, these neighbourhood boundaries are often blurred, so you won’t really know that, for example, the Iroquois Ridge Community Center is technically in Joshua Creek. It’s smack dab at the border of the two neighbourhoods, so it’s going to be equally used by everyone.

But for more information on amenities in the area, head over to my Joshua Creek Neighbourhood Guide and scroll down to the “Things to do in Joshua Creek” section.

Retail in Wedgewood Creek

And for everyday retail, like groceries and big box stores, this is definitely the best spot in all of Oakville. You have access to so much here either in walking distance or a short drive away.

Check out the Things to Do in River Oaks (again scroll down to that section) to see the details on retail amenities in the area.
