Parks & Trails in Ford
Ford is a quiet, nature-filled neighbourhood with plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy.
- Maple Grove Park: A local favourite with pickleball and tennis courts, perfect for staying active.
- Carrington Promenade: A beautiful spot along the lake where you can take a peaceful walk, skip rocks, or just enjoy the fresh breeze off Lake Ontario.
- Joshua’s Creek Trail: The South Section follows Joshua’s Creek from Arkendo Park up to Brookmill Road.

The tree-canopied trails and parks that crisscross the neighbourhood give Ford a calm and scenic atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for relaxing or staying active outdoors.
Sports & Activities
The two main spots for families to access would be Canlan Sports and Maple Grove Arena.
- Canlan Sports offers fun and accessible leagues, tournaments, and instructional programs for both youth and adults.
- Maple Grove Arena offers of on-ice activities including classes and programs, recreational skating, Oakville Hockey Development programs, the Oakville Recreational Hockey League, and rental opportunities.
Shopping & Amenities
Maple Grove Village will be the closest plaza for groceries and everyday amenities. However, there is an entire commercial and industrial section that runs across the entire city between the QEW and Cornwall Road known as the Queen Elizabeth Industrial Corridor.
This area creates a nice buffer between the QEW and railroad tracks and the neighbourhoods to the north and south. Here is where you can find the Oakville GO station and tons of other businesses, restaurants, home improvement and grocery stores.
