Falgarwood Overview

Falgarwood is located in east-central Oakville just west of College Park, south of Wedgewood Creek & Joshua Creek and just north of the QEW/403. It’s bordered by Upper Middle Road to the North and Trafalgar Road to the west giving you three major arteries to access the neighbourhood.

If you’re a commuter, you’ll love this location. Whether you’re heading into Toronto or Hamilton, getting around is a breeze. Public transit runs through the area too, so it’s convenient if you don’t want to drive everywhere.

The vibe here is classic suburban. You’ve got mature trees, quiet streets, and plenty of walking trails and parks. It’s peaceful, but not boring—there’s a nice mix of residential and commercial spaces nearby, so you’re never far from what you need. It’s a place where people take pride in their homes, and you’ll see kids playing outside and neighbours who actually stop to chat.

Falgarwood real estate

Real Estate

Most of the homes in Falgarwood are detached homes built between the 1960s and 1980s, so you’ll see a lot of character in the architecture. There is a good mix of two-story designs, side splits, back splits, and even raised bungalows.

What’s really great is that this area is affordable compared to other parts of Oakville. Homes here are generally about 25% cheaper than the city’s average, which is a big draw for first-time buyers.

Here’s a classic Falgarwood home. 1977-built, 2-storey on a nice court right in the heart of the neighbourhood. Quick drive to the Upper Oakville Shopping Centre which has a grocery store, pharmacy, LCBO and some other shops and restaurants.

These are the types of homes that are quite affordable compared to other pockets of Oakville. But, if you’re looking for even more affordable entry points, there are also some semi-detached, freehold and condo townhomes available.

Here’s an example of an early 80s-built townhome. This tucked away with loads of mature trees for shade and street privacy.

Falgarwood is an unpretentious neighbourhood and one that’s been relatively untouched by custom infills outside of a couple of different streets that back onto more wooded areas.

It’s also a neighbourhood that has a good mix of affordability, a strong community feel, and a convenient location. Whether you’re buying your first home, upgrading for more space, or just looking for a place to settle down, Falgarwood is worth considering.
