Lorne Park overview

Lorne Park is located in south Mississauga west of Clarkson, east of Port Credit and south of Erindale separated by the QEW. While its borders blend into neighbouring Clarkson, the main arteries of the two neighbourhoods are actually quite distinct in many respects.

Lorne Park is Mississauga’s ultimate “move up” neighbourhood. On the weekend, families will take a stroll or drive through its gorgeous tree-lined streets that boast a mix of luxury million-dollar, custom built, and quaint cottage-style homes. You can immediately recognize the pride of ownership of its residents and it carries with it a very prestigious, yet down-to-earth balance.

With some of the best schools in Mississauga, Lorne Park is usually at the top of the list for those with the means to move into this exclusive neighbourhood.

home styles in Lorne Park

Lorne Park initially was a summer community for the wealthy of Toronto. It was basically cottage country for the elite. Since then, it’s continued to be one of Mississauga’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.

From 70+ year old homes to new custom builds, you can find many different styles, types and architecturally unique designs. While most of the community we know today was developed between the 50s and 80s, there have been many lots purchased and homes tore down with custom homes built.

Established in 2005, the latest development in Lorne Park is Mattamy’s “Watercolours” which is a collection of luxury homes built on frontages up to 70ft. On top of that, ~73 condo bungalofts were built and the area is home to the Lorne Park Watercolours Resident Association.

There are fortunately pockets of more “affordable” detached homes. However, what would buy a 3500+sq.ft, turnkey home in some other areas, will get you a fairly “standard” home in Lorne Park. You do get great lot sizes, but for truly turnkey and modern, you’d need to further invest.

There are also very small pockets of townhomes and semis, but to realistically get into Lorne Park’s best areas you’ll have to break the bank or be a high-earner.

Pros & Cons

What are the Pros & Cons Of Living in MIssissauga?

Lorne Park median home prices

affordability

Below is the median sales price per home type. The median sales price is the price where half of the listed prices are higher and the other half are lower than it. This better represents affordability than the average sales price.

While these figures are updated as much as possible, it’s best to contact us below for real-time pricing.

Finally, please note that “Condo” includes condo townhomes while “townhome” includes both freehold and common element fee townhomes. If you see a dash (-), then this home type has not seen a sale in at least the last 180 days.

Within the actual boundary of Lorne Park there actually isn’t much to do. It’s a mostly residential area with about three small parkettes. However, this is sort of the appeal of the neighbourhod. The good news is that it neighbours both Clarkson Village and Port Credit so fun is only a few minutes away.

Parks near Lorne Park

There are six main parks either in Lorne Park or right next to it with the most popular one being Jack Darling Memorial Park. I love taking my daughter here on the weekends to skip rocks on the lake, walk the trails and play at the playgrounds. Jack Darling also has huge picnic areas, a leash-free dog zone, and tennis courts. It’s a great spot for family outings!

Ask Me About Lorne Park

These are the top four things people usually ask about Lorne Park!

Contact Me
  • what's it really like to live in Lorne Park?

Peaceful. Quiet. Spacious. Luxurious. These four things come to mind when you think of Lorne Park. Great quality of life with spacious lots and homes. Parks are plentiful and the lively Port Credit is right next door. Simply put, this is one of the best neighbourhoods in Mississauga.

  • What's the commute like from Lorne Park?

From most of Lorne Park, it will be about a 10-minute drive to access major roads and amenities.

However, the trade off is a more peaceful, tranquil home environment. The QEW, Lakeshore and two major GO Train stops (Clarkson GO and Port Credit GO) are still close by to get you around the GTA.

  • Why Should I Live in Lorne Park?

Do you want a home a bit more off the beaten path, but still a stone’s throw away from civilization? Do you like mature, tree-lined streets with great charm and character? Do you want to be in one of the best school zones in the city? If yes, Lorne Park is the place for you.

  • why should i not live in Lorne Park?

Most of it is out of budget for most people – that’s usually the main reason why. But even if you do have the budget, you may opt for a neighbourhood like Port Credit which offers the same luxuries, but is much more walkable and is better for commuting and amenities.
