Hurontario real estate

home styles in Hurontario

Hurontario has the reputation of a quiet residential neighbourhood. The area began development in the 80s with the majority of homes being built in the 90s and the last wave occurring in the early 2000s.

Along Hurontario street you will find pockets of condos and apartments (both old and new) with more in the works thanks to the introduction of the Hurontario LRT in the mid 2020s.

Land was available to be developed here and the area is more in demand with its proximity to the retail plazas on that corner, Hwy 403 and Square One City Centre just to the south.

Land north and south of here has been developed in pockets and further development of new condos is to be expected in the coming years.

Contact us for information about pre-construction condos.

However, large parcels of lands located off of Hurontario are owned, for example, by the Peel Education board and at this time the area remains undeveloped.

So, despite lots of available land along a major artery with transportation designed to move over a million people in Peel, there is still a distinct lack of residential and commercial density on this corridor.

Hurontario real estate encompasses many different lifestyle options and the area is fairly affordable. Most of the neighbourhood consists of small and large detached homes, condo townhomes and apartments. There are a few pockets of semis and townhomes as well.

Hurontario has always been a quiet neighbourhood where people have sought value and the convenience of its location. Moving forward, as Hurontario continues to see an increase in density, the neighbourhood should continue to see an increase in demand.

Ask Me About Hurontario

These are the top four things people usually ask about Hurontario!

Contact Me
  • what's it really like to live in Hurontario?

For those in apartments off of Hurontario Street, it can get quite hectic at times with construction and development but the tradeoff is much closer retail and proximity to major transportation. For those in homes, it’s pretty quiet once you can manage to get off of Hurontario street.

It’s a mostly residential area with roads that connect well to the rest of the city. It’s a quite convenient area to live with lots of transportation and retail options within a short drive and you’re close to many of Mississauga’s major work centres.

  • What's the commute like from Hurontario?

The commute can be quite easy or a bit rough depending on where you’re going. It will be busy at peak hours because of the LRT and major highways nearby, but its central location does take you quickly to the 403, 401 and Pearson airport.

Of course, you have the LRT which provides a direct connection to the GO train at either Cooksville GO or the express train on the Lakeshore at Port Credit GO. This is great for commuters who get to jump on early before the rush of people at the City Centre! And, of course, you can avoid the traffic of trying to drive into downtown or using the bus system to get to the GO station.

  • Why Should I Live in Hurontario?

For those looking for good-sized homes in a quiet area with good schools and easy access to retail and major highways, Hurontario is a great choice. It’s as affordable as other neighbourhoods, and its location is generally more desirable than other ones further west.

There’s also the bonus of investing in an area close to major transit and Mississauga’s major work centres.

  • why should i not live in Hurontario?

The commute can be rough at times for those that are fully car-dependent and public schools aren’t all of the highest quality in the city. There are major amenities in the neighbourhood like the Paramount Centre but they’re not quite for everyday usage. Access to parks and outdoor activities like trails aren’t as abundant here.
