Shopping in East Credit
Residents of East Credit get easy access to the Heartland Town Centre which is one of Canada’s largest malls. Now, keep in mind this is not an indoor mall. It’s actually a massive collection of over 180 independent retailers spread over a few blocks in the north east corner of the neighbourhood.
You can find literally anything you need in this area. It has everything. Some big names include Costco, Best Buy, Banana Republic, H&M, HomeSense, JYSK, Harry Rosen Outlet, Loblaws, Marshalls, Michaels, Moores, Old Navy, Party City, Petsmart, The Brick, Dollarama, Home Depot & Canadian Tire, Walmart and Winners.
I could go on, but you get the idea. Local hint…try to avoid Costco on Saturdays!
There are also tons of restaurants in the area like The Keg, California Sandwiches, Congee Queen, and Krispy Kreme just to name a few.
Parks in East Credit
Unfortunately, green space is not something you’re going to find a lot of in East Credit. However, you do have options. In fact, in the north of the neighbourhood, the Credit Meadows Park expansion was completed in Spring 2025. The City developed new trails that connect the park to its northern expansion area (the former Harris Lands). This expansion provides new park space, trails and two pedestrian bridges.
Also, the area borders the Credit River so those on the west end have easy access to the famous Culham trail.
Finally, being so central you have easy access to Streetsville and Meadowvale which offer lots of things to do and tons of parks to explore.
River Grove Community Centre
Completed in 2014, the River Grove Community Centre is a great place for kids to learn how to swim and to get your daily workout in as it’s one of the better city gyms!
There is also a gymnasium for basketball and badminton. There are ton of programs you can do – explore your options here.
Braeben Golf Course
From GolfNow.com – “The public, par 72 Championship Course features 18 challenging holes and totals 6,415 yards from the back tees. Set amongst dramatic landforms, the wind swept course features tall grasses, pristine fairways, greens and tees, with challenging pot bunkers – all reminiscent of golf’s early beginnings. Borrowing from this heritage, the name of the course – “BraeBen” – is Gaelic for “slope” and “mountain or hill”. The elevated playing surface ensures that wind will be a factor most days – just like the challenging conditions found in the highlands of Scotland. When you play BraeBen Golf Course you will soon realize it is truly never the same game twice!”
Having played Braeben at least a dozen times I can tell you that is very accurate. You will get some of the most amazing views of the entire GTA from the very top of the old landfill!
